I have been working retail since 2002, and im still a student. I use to be okay with these type of jobs, but lately, iv been feeling really aggravated. Am I alone in thinking that, these jobs are pointless, and that no matter what you do, or how well you work, in the end, your just a money robot. Beat the time clock, sell and that’s it. What bugs me most though, are the people i work with. My managers. I ask myself all the time, how are they so smart. How did they get those manager jobs. Did they simply settle in life? Were they underachievers? Does anyone else feel this way? Is there something wrong with me? Im exhausted, i just got back from work at sports authority, and I feel like eh. I come home thinking that there must be more to life. That these jobs are for people who don’t ask questions in life, that there is no sense of accomplishment for routine jobs like these. There’s lots of good people in these places, people with dreams and ambitions, but there’s so many stupid jerks also. I want to hear what others feel about their retail job. Especially if your a student.
